Welcome to Books Teacher Love! This month, I used a book with my students that we all know very well, "Frog and Toad are Friends." This book is the perfect one to use for a guided reading group.
I absolutely love how this book shows the importance of friendship.
It brings up a lot of great discussions!
When I use this book, as I said above, I like to use it during guided reading.
My higher group is very independent so I have created an activity packet for them to complete.
The students read a story in the book. Complete two pages of activities. We come together and have a discussion.
Each stories activities are very simple and to the point. The students are given a purpose for reading, introduced to new words, they pick a question to answer and then they write about their thoughts about the story. The kids loved it and felt all grown up!! ;-)
