Books Teachers Love: April

This month, I am bringing one of my all time favorite books to you! It's called, "Help Me Mr. Mutt!" It's an awesome story about dogs who write into Mr. Mutt for some doggy help!

I used this book to help teach students Point of View in 1st, 2nd and 3rd person.

I wrote letters from inside the book on chart paper to begin our study of POV. The kids helped me identify key words to tell if it was first, second or third person POV.

The kids then, made mini-anchor charts to put inside their reading journals!

This book can also be used to teach letter writing! It's super funny and entertaining!
