Visual Plans Linky & New Products!

Below are my visual plans for next week! My week is so crazy! We have a four day week and 2 assemblies as well! My schedule is literally all over the place so ignore the headings for the topics I am teaching.

Here are some of my new products that I have posted!! They're on sale until tomorrow at midnight!

This is a new one that I am very excited about! It is a flip flower activity to help your little ones write about their spring break events. Two other prompts are also available in this pack ("My Spring Break Story" & "How to plant a flower."

This week the kids are doing all sorts of long I activities for literacy stations. They're all in here.

This is a pack full of 15 math centers! Take a look at it! There are tons of topics covered in here! I made it to help me throughout the rest of the year!

I made this pack to help my kiddos review and learn new concepts. We need to work more on describing and writing complete sentences. I am only doing one activity in here next week and then we will really focus on the activities in here next week.

Now here is what you really came for!! It is a busy week! I am excited to see my kiddos! I have missed them! I can't believe how much I talk about them! <3

Five for Friday!

This is the first time I have linked up with Doodle Bugs for the Five for Friday and have not been excited... I don't want it to be Friday this week! It is my spring break week and I have just been relaxing and doing my own thing all week! It has been so nice!! :)

fiveforfriday

Fore warning... my week has not been nearly as exciting as it has been the past few...and that's not even saying much. :)

1. I started off my week hanging out with the boyfriend. He took off Monday and Tuesday to hang out with me at the beginning of my spring break! We went shopping and I got 2 dresses, a cute sweater & a waste belt! No pictures. :(

2. I spend this past weekend making all sorts of fun things for us to do when we return to school! We are doing Dinosaur stuff for two weeks!! So crazy but it is going to be so much fun.  I purchased Deanna Jumps Dinosaur unit which is filled with so many ideas! I then went to the library to grab some books about Dinosaurs & began creating Igh/Ie stuff and making a packet so I can work on writing with my first graders!

I am not trying to find some fun way to teach kids about continents.. just something simple. I completed a cute lesson during my student teaching and students created continent puppets & sang a song about the continents. It was so fun! I may do that?...be on the lookout for a continent pack!!

3. My mom, grandma and I went shopping in Columbus yesterday. Yesterday was the first time I had ever been to Berlington Coat Factory and I love it! I don't love their clothes so much but they have so much jewelry at such great prices! I loaded up!! I also found an adorable mustard yellow purse and beige colored (fake) leather jacket! The jacket was originally $100.00...I got it for...$28.00! I love good deals!

Here are some pictures of the things I got! :)

I found this adorable picture frame for only $5! Sorry for the glare.

4. I almost reached my workout goal of working out everyday of my spring break! I didn't work out on Monday?...I think...or Tuesday? One of the two anyway!
 Today...was a workout I will never forget.
Yesterday, while shopping my grandma asked me to come with her this morning to go workout...If you read my previous post then you know how much I adore her. So, I said yes. Let me just tell you the name of the work out class..."Sit & Fit." So they sit and get fit! Most of the ladies in the class stood but some sat in these nice comfy chairs. It was so fun. The older ladies were so ornery and naughty! They were saying things like, "Boy, I hope I don't have a heart attack & Ughhhh I might fall dead right now!" ha ha it was hilarious. Then right after this hour long class my grandma wanted to do Pilates! I love Pilates! I go with her and let me tell you... my butt is so sore!! I got a great workout.. During Pilates though there was this older man who kept letting out big farts ha ha... I am the immature one that giggles. He kept saying. "I just can't hold em in!" ha ha...What an adventure it was! I loved every minute of it! Tomorrow morning I am going to try a different workout class called, "Cave Man Training." It sounds like cross fit type stuff. You lift tractor tires and do workouts with pipes! Ahhh!! I am a bit scared but its more my speed rather than Sit & Fit! :)

This is basically what it looked like! Exactly what you see in the movies! :)

Then this is what I will be partaking in tomorrow morning...What a difference!!

5... I am running out of stuff since I basically did nothing interesting this week so I will share an update with you about the Nutribullet. For those of you looking for a boost in energy, the Nutribullet is the way to go! I have been drinking one each day this week and I have felt so good and alive! I am getting a ton of vitamins and eating more fruits & veggies than ever!

This is my favorite mix:
1 cup of vanilla yogurt
1 piece of Kale
1 small handful of almonds
1 Tbsp. of Chia Seeds
1 Tbsp. of Flax Seeds
Pineapple
Kiwi
Grapes
Raspberries
Banana

This seriously takes like a desert. I was so afraid to try the Kale but I actually couldn't even taste it! Trust me when I say that too... I am literally the pickiest person alive and I was trying to taste it but couldn't!

Well that's it for me this week...Also, can I just say that I feel like my blog is becoming a mixture between a teaching blog/health & fitness blog? hm.... I kind of like it! I may need a new bloggy name..plus I found another blog whose name is the same as mine.. :( So... I may need to change it anyway. Any ideas?

Have a great weekend!
Check back tomorrow for my visual plans for next week!!

We're Goin' Dino Crazy!

I recently purchased Deanna Jump's dinosaur unit! She has a lot of great ideas in there and I have just taken off in all other content areas to create Dino themed lessons for my kids! I am on spring break and it may seem like I am working to you... but to me this is fun... my hobby!!

When we get back we are going to be working on IGH, IE*
I made this oooober cute unit for it! I am so excited!

Then, I need to really work on writing with my kids. Specifically, adding descriptions and narrative writing. I need to throw prepositions in there too!
So....... I made a Dino Writing unit for that too! I am mostly excited about this because I have whole group lessons in this unit and station activities to reinforce concepts! The kids are going to be moving around and I know this is going to help improve their writing skills! Can you tell I am excited or what?!

 Here is a sneak peek!!

If you are doing any Dino stuff anytime soon then take a peek at these!

Here is a freebie for you from the expanding sentences unit!
It is just simple... but it is free!! :)

Getting Acquainted!

Today, I am linking up with Latoya Reed from Flying into First Grade!

We are doing the Noun game! I am going to be naming my favorite: person, place, thing & animal!

*Person*
My all time favorite person would have to be my Grandma Jan. She is my moms mom and I am her to a T! I am slow moving (like I always run late & take forever to do things)... I am crafty and naughty/ornery; just like her. :) She is so much fun to be around and I have always looked up to her!

*Place*
I am not really a traveler and I don't really go to a lot of places so I would have to say my favorite place is home. <3. I just enjoy sitting my puppies and boyfriend watching movies and getting cozy! I am what you call a homebody!... a severe one :)

*Thing*
This is new... but it is the Nutribullet. Andrew (my boyfriend) just received it in the mail this week and we have never ingested so many fruits and flax seeds! It is so good and I am looking forward to becoming a healthier me!

*Animal*
This is a given... my two puppies! They're adorable and cuddly and ornery like me!
In fact, Andrew snapped a fun shot of me doing some laundry today... this is Buddy!!

Then we have the beautiful Bella girl cuddling! :)

Now, I am off the enjoy the rest of my Sunday night with my family... which means... more March Madness and me creating my dino unit on igh and ie!!

Have a great Sunday!

Five for Friday!!

Can I just say first, TGIF!!!!! Here is a peek at my week for you!! I am hooking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for the 5 for Friday!!

fiveforfriday

1. Lets just say my week was a complete mess! We had a snow day Monday which was great.. on Monday but it messed up the entire rest of my week! I had to put a halt on all of my lessons and create all new things for this week! I had to fit in an observation on Tuesday which completely screwed up my entire layout for my whole week! It was such a mess... but thanks to fabulous freebies and great kids I got through it! Barely!

2. Since we had a crayyy crayy week the kids did some ever so cute crafts! I swear, doing crafts is more work than actually teaching a lesson, lesson...whew I was worn out and so were they!
Here are some lovely pictures of their hard work!!

I just love these little chicks!

We made our bunnies and they wrote about their favorite part of spring season. Our starter sentence was, "I hope you have a HOPPY spring season!"

3. Taking a break from teacher talk... So...I am sore... I have had insanity (the workout) for about three years! I have yet to make it through the full 60 days! I somehow mustered up the energy to workout on Wednesday night! I had to take a scary picture of myself because boy... I wasn't looking forward to it but I am sure glad I did it! I am going to try to do it at LEAST 3 days a week! We will see how successful I am with this!

Here is my before & After! Scared..... toooo Feelin' good!! Yayy!!

4. Now back to school stuff! We had grandparents day today! I have declared this day the worst day of my first year teaching career. I will go into this on # 5. Before the sadness and frustration I want to share the cute stuff!! Kids created gifts for grandparents and we made this adorable sign!

Inside the book students wrote a letter to their grandparents telling them why they loved them. It was adorable!

Here is our welcome sign that we created together!

5. For this one I just want to say that I do not like grandparents day... I think it may be because not all the kids in my room had a grandparent that came and I just feel that it is so mean to have some kids in the room doing an activity with their grandparent and then other kids to play a game with a friend in the classroom. The kids without grandparents were upset and it was just so sad! Also... I had a rude grandparent in the room and literally when the kids left for special I broke down into tears. He was asking me questions about the activity I had them doing with their grandchildren and asking what it was teaching the kids?? Like?...WHAT? It is activity for you and your grandchild to enjoy doing together...I was not planning on having a full blown lesson during this time?... I was so mad. There is more to the story but I do not want to go into details... I just hope I never have to encounter anything like this ever again! Whew...first year teacher struggles... I will have to figure out how to make this better for next time...

Well... I am not off to enjoy my spring break! Before I go I want to share my "Flutter into Math Centers" packet with you! Click on the picture to check it out!

There are 13 centers in here!!!!
Double digit addition, number grid puzzles, shapes/attributes, 10 more & 10 less, addition & subtraction game, more, less and equal to, place value, missing addends, graphing!

Take a look at the pack.. if it is something you want then leave a comment telling me how you will use this, follow my blog & Tpt store for a chance to win this for free!! Don't forget to leave your e-mail! I will send it out Sunday night to the lucky person!

I got a huge wrench into my week!

So, before I go onto my wrench that has gotten thrown into my plans we will do this fun bucket list that I found! I am linking up with Brigid's Daily Lesson Log for this!!

I have all kinds of things I want to accomplish in my 1 week off!
1. Finish my Spring Math Centers Pack
2. Create and finish my Book Study Pack (I found 2 books to use) :)
3. Clean my apartment...like deep clean and scrub
4. Spend time with my boyfriend who took Monday and Tuesday off to spend with me. :)
5. Get engaged... ha ha just kidding .. but really.... :)
6. Work out Saturday-Sunday... and by that I mean 8 days in a row! (we will see)
7. Veg out in front of the TV for an entire day and let my body and mind rest!!

Now onto my poor little week...

This is going to be a short post but I just need to vent/complain to fellow educators who understand my frustration....We had an snow day yesterday and I was so happy. I did miss my observation though so I had to make it up today.  Well I made it up this morning during my reading block...and let's just say the rest of the day was spent outside of the school going over safety procedures and watching a play. Then we come back from that and it is recess then snack. At this point there is 25 minutes left in the day...So.. not enough time for me to introduce new stations...we do a quick writing lesson and then boom time to go home. So far my kids have not had any reading in this week..grandparents day is Friday ..so I will not be using that day as catch up. Technically I have two "regular" days of teaching?.. I want to get my literacy centers in because I NEED to do my small group. So, tomorrow we are doing two rounds, same on Thursday and one round on Friday... That takes up my whole reading block except for a little bit of time.

I had the cutest reading lessons planed for my kiddos this week and I am so bummed that I can't fit them in. Today during recess I just decided... ex-nay the book lessons and do them the week after spring break... and lets do some crafts to decorate my teeny room for spring! So, here I am now searching for something quick & easy for the kids to create! I found two cute freebies and I wanted to vent a little so I could share them with you!

If you want either of these crafts just click on the picture and it will take you to it!

Tomorrow we will be making these cute chicks...I want to come up with a quick writing to go with this. I am thinking, "What is the first thing you would do if you just hatched from an egg?"  This prompt is not yet for sure...

Then Thursday morning I am going to have the kiddo's complete this craft.

I may have them do a little blurb, "If I were a bunny..."

There we are! Sorry about my rant but I am just so bummed that I can't get my cute reading lessons in. Guess it will wait till the week after SB!! (YAY...3 more days)
Are you jelly???!!

SNOW Day & Freebie

Today is a teacher's all time favorite day! It is an unexpected snow day.. or should I say ice day? I get a glorious phone call this morning around 5:55 that we are on a two hour delay? I think to myself... why? But, I will of course gladly take it.  So, I turn on the television to check the weather channel.  It says its raining ice... I think to myself... they better cancel school because last time this happened school was canceled and who got in a car wreck? That's right... this girl right here. I got another glorious phone call at 7:30 that said we are canceled.

It is now 11:30 and I am still sitting in my jammies on the couch... hanging out with my puppies...

Don't worry though I am not sitting here vegging in front of the TV. I am working on some spring activities!!!  I am loving my cover!!

I am trying to create a list of concepts to include in this packet .

I need to hit writing hard in these last two months of school so that will be a huge part of this pack!

Also, I love the book the tiny seed and I already have a glorious sequencing activity and power point that will be in the pack!

I am trying to think of/find another great springy children's book to use for another book study... hmmm... I think I may hit the library today if the ice decides to melt.

Stay tuned! My goal is to finish this pack by next Sunday. (next week is my spring break so I will need something productive to do with my time so I don't drive myself crazy staring at the wall ha ha!)

So, the whole point of this post was not to just tell you what I am working up but to provide you with a teeny tiny freebie.  This is just the idea stage of my pack but I am pretty sure it will stick in here!

Here are some writing prompt cards and a writing prompt paper for your enjoyment!!
Click below to grab it!
